Aston Martin Carplay (2004-2018)
The CarPlay/Android Auto system we install is an innovation developed by Aston Installations, designed specifically to modernise the infotainment in earlier Aston Martin models.
The system uses the original factory screen, with the OEM navigation still available in the background. On cars fitted with the later Garmin navigation system, no screen replacement is required.
For earlier models with the Volvo-based system, we supply a high-definition screen upgrade as part of the kit, which greatly improves clarity for mapping and media.
Audio integration is handled through the fibre-optic MOST system for full OEM sound quality. A discreet microphone is added for hands-free calls and voice control, and on later models the system can work alongside the factory Bluetooth module.
Control Hub & Switch Integration
The system is operated via a compact rotary control hub, usually mounted in the centre console. Rotate to select, press to confirm, and use the surrounding back, home and track-skip buttons for quick navigation.
Switching between CarPlay/Android Auto and the factory system is done via a small hidden rocker switch.
All kits include a deeper ashtray insert (not required for Rapide). This provides additional space to neatly integrate the controller, system switch, and optional camera controls, keeping everything tidy and centralised without altering the rest of the cabin.
Fitment Notes
For model years 2011–2012, Aston Martin used both Volvo and Garmin navigation systems depending on production date. These cars are marked as “VIN required”. The price shown for those variants is based on the Volvo system.
If your vehicle turns out to be Garmin-equipped, the kit will be cheaper than the listed price, and we will adjust the order accordingly.
Please contact us with your VIN before purchase so we can confirm which version your car requires.
Cars using the later AMI II/AMI III infotainment platform (certain 2015–2017 vehicles) require a different type of upgrade supplied as a separate OEM kit. A brief explanation is provided in the FAQ, along with guidance on identifying AMI-equipped vehicles.
